The piano has 88 keys and 230 strings, which can create a lovely sound, but maybe a 4-string instrument is more your style? The ukulele is an excellent starting instrument for new students. Learning to play a string instrument can benefit a young student in many ways: it will improve their coordination, sharpen their concentration, spark their creativity, boost their self-confidence, and provide a valuable skill that will serve them throughout their life.
In ukulele lessons, students will learn how to form and play chords so that they sound clean and beautiful. They will learn how to read tab notation, which is a little different from reading notes on a treble clef staff, and they’ll start playing fun, simple melodies. Students will practice rhythmic strumming patterns with a steady beat. When these techniques are put together, students will soon be able to play the songs from their favorite artists, whether it’s the Beatles, Taylor Swift, or Ed Sheeran. Our instructor will customize the student’s lessons based on their level of experience and the styles of music they are most interested in learning.
